Before the move
- Ask for a survey and a written quote.
- Make a written list of items with the team.
- Agree in advance who pays if something breaks.
- Pay only a small advance, the rest after delivery.
On moving day
- Keep cash, jewellery, documents and medicines with you.
- Check that glass, TV and crockery are packed with bubble wrap.
- Label boxes by room.
- Be there while loading and unloading.
After the move
Check every item against your list before paying the balance. Note any damage there and then, and settle it as agreed.
